thinkorswim Collegiate Trading Competition

thinkorswim Collegiate Trading Competition is a nationally held competition with different universities participating from around the country. Each school is allowed to have up to three teams, graduate included, consisting of at least five people per team. The teams will be trading on a real-time thinkorswim trading platform. There will be a whole week of practice prior to the start of the competition that ends in a live WebX (online tutorial of the platform). The competition will then officially start on Monday, October 5th 2009 and end Friday, November 6th 2009 allowing 5 weeks of trading.

Structure:

• Practice trading begins Monday, September 28th 2009 and ends Friday, October 2nd with a live online interactive tutorial.
• Competitive trading begins Monday, October 5th 2009 and ends Friday, November 6th 2009.
• Competition is open and free only to Finance Association members.

Rules:

• Each team will start with $100,000.00 of equity.
• Each team must make at least one trade per week.
• ONLY students will be allowed to participate in the competition. No formal help from professors or professionals!
• The team with the largest return at the end of the five weeks of trading will be the national winner.

Prizes:

• First Place: $1000
• Second Place: $750
• Third Place: $500
• Fourth Place: $250
