Any Questions For Us?

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What are the requirements to join?

A: None. Just fill out an application and turn in your dues. You do not get kicked out for low participation, although we do encourage everyone to try to attend our events as they are beneficial for you.

Q: I'm only a freshman/sophomore. Can I join?

A: You sure can! With NABA, you can find out more information about the accounting field as well as other major fields of business and whether it is right for you before declaring your major. We also have the opportunity to become a leader earlier in your academic career.

Q: I'm not an accounting major, can I still join?

A: We are open to all business majors and we encourage other majors as well as undecided majors to join and attend our professional meetings. You can find our more about the various fields within accounting, what you can do with an accounting degree and if accounting is for you.

Q: If I become a member, am I prohibited from joining other accounting organizations?

A: No you aren't. The great thing about the Bauer College of Business is it's selection of student organizations which can help expand your network and we wouldn't want to stop you from doing so. Given the other possible group, we hope that you choose to continue to participate in The NABA events.

Q: How much are your membership dues?

A: Our dues are $40 for a whole year. $20 will go to our national chapter and the other $20 will go to the University of Houston NABA chapter.

What if I decide to change my major from accounting to something else? Can I still be a member?

A: Of course. We do not have requirements on declared majors. We welcome anyone and everyone.
